Australian
Curriculum: English Year Level Description for Foundation states:
"Students engage with a variety of texts for enjoyment. They listen to and view multimodal texts in which the primary purpose is to
entertain. These include
picture books, rhyming
verse and multimodal texts. They participate in shared reading and viewing using a range of literary texts, and recognise the
entertaining nature of literature"
"Students create a range of imaginative texts including
pictorial representations, short statements and recounts."
The Pre Primary learning sequence contained in this post was developed by Pre Primary teacher Wendy Murray from Woodlands PS in our work as a

The sequence refers to the texts "Mrs Wishy Washy" by Joy Cowley and "How the Birds Got Their Colours" told by Mary Albert and complied by Pamela Lofts.
